The hands-on construction experience was the perfect training for the succeeding 31 years of design/management experience at Kohli & Kaliher, starting with highway and bridge design, reports, bridge inspections – leading to project management of complex highway projects including complex roadway, complex structure design (Level 1, 2 and 3), curved girder, railroad structures (fracture critical), building underpinning, tieback and cantilever retaining wall designs per ODOT requirements. His length of tenure has proven Dan’s commitments to his clients and their projects, and has enabled him to guide simple to complex projects from planning and preliminary development phases through the final design. He does not hesitate to network with other engineers and managers in the field to enhance and utilize the depth of expertise that K&K brings to a project.
Dan is active in professional, civic and church activities. He has taken leadership rolls in the Lima Chapter of the Society of Professional Engineers (President, Vice President, Secretary). He was instrumental in establishing the Northwest Ohio Literacy through Church People for Change and Reconciliation, and served as its Charter President. Dan also has been active in mission projects to South Carolina (10 years to Williamsburg County – second poorest county in the U.S.) and is currently active in mission projects to Haiti – the poorest country in the western hemisphere. “I believe that our greatest blessing is to be a blessing to others.” |
