Mark has been with Kohli & Kaliher Associates, Inc. since 1990, advancing from a Design Engineer to a Principal with the firm. He has experience in the management and coordination of projects from preliminary development through construction. He has completed ODOT’s “Managing the Environmental Process” seminar which addressed all aspects of the National Environmental Policy Act. Experience includes the preparation of Categorical Exclusion Confirmations and numerous U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pre-Construction Notifications.

As a Design Engineer, Mark has specialized in managing and developing Bridge and Highway Construction Contract Plans for ODOT, area Counties, and Cities. He is proficient in the design and analysis of steel beam/girder superstructures; prestressed reinforced concrete beam superstructures; various types of reinforced concrete abutments and piers including foundations; bridge hydraulics and flood hazard evaluations; and all aspects of roadway design. Other duties include the preparation of bid documents and the administration of projects through the construction phase.

As a Project Manager, Mark has coordinated the plan development for numerous bridge and roadway projects. Most notably he was project manager for DEF-24-7.96 which was a $36.7 million dollar project for ODOT District One. This project improved three miles of U.S. 24 from an existing Super 2 highway into a 4-lane divided highway, which also included the design of two twin river bridges, one twin overpass structure; the complete redesign and replacement of the U.S. 24 / S.R. 15-18 interchange; and the construction of a connector road and other intersecting roads.

Mark has taken an active interest in professional organizations. He has held several officer positions with the Lima Chapter of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers, culminating in being Chapter President for two terms: 1997-1998 and 2004-2005. He is also actively involved with the Lima Chapter of the Ohio Contractors Association, serving as the Lima Chapter Chairman during 2004.  In addition, Mark also serves on the Transportation Advisory Committee of the Lima-Allen County Regional Planning Commission
