Becky first came to Kohli & Kaliher for a co-operative education experience as part of her education at The University of Toledo. After graduating in 2002, she joined the firm as a full time Design Engineer.
As a Design Engineer, Becky has worked on a variety of roadway and bridge projects for clients such as ODOT, various county engineers, and area cities. Design aspects that she has addressed in these projects include preliminary and detail bridge design of single and multiple span prestressed box beam bridges, bridge hydraulic analysis and flood hazard evaluation, culvert design, retaining wall design, and roadway details including pavement design, drainage, and horizontal and vertical alignments.
She has also assisted in the preparation of construction drawings for various municipal organizations and private developers for the improvement of and expansion to water distribution systems, sanitary sewers, and storm runoff infrastructures. These projects include commercial site design, housing developments, roadside drainage improvements, and pump station improvements.
Becky approaches projects with an emphasis on using computer aided drafting programs and design software to get accurate results. She is proficient in CAD including AutoCAD, Eagle Point, MicroStation, and Geopak. She is also skilled with several hydraulics and drainage related packages including HEC-RAS, PondPak, Hydraflow Hydrographs, and Hydraflow Storm Sewers.
As an engineer, Becky has an interest in several professional organizations. Becky is an active member in the Lima Society of Professional Engineers, the local chapter of the National Society of Professional Engineers. She is the representative for Kohli & Kaliher in the Ottawa River Coalition, where she served as Vice Chairman in 2005 and 2006.
